Biblical scientific foreknowledge is a belief that certain Bible passages knew about scientific facts before scientific discovery.

Bible verses cited as scientific foreknowledge

Earth floating free in space

Job 26:7 (ESV) states that God "hangs the Earth on nothing.", It also contrasts with ancient Hindu [1] and Native American myths that the Earth hangs on a turtle.

Blood circulation

Leviticus 17:11 (ESV) states, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood", [2] blood circulation was not discovered until 17th century by William Harvey. [3]

William Harvey cited Leviticus 17:11 on "On Generation". [4]

Modern science agrees that blood is essence for life because it carries oxygen, food, hormones. [5]

Universe expansion

Isaiah 40:22 says "who stretches out the heavens", [6] Hebrew word "natah" in Isaiah 40:22 means to stretch out or extend. [7] universe expansion was not discovered by secularists until 20th century. [8]

Uncountable stars

Jeremiah 33:22 says number of stars cannot be counted by a human, [9] scientific estimate puts that number of stars are 1022 to 1024 . [10] but it would take human billions of years to count all of them.

Circumcision on the 8th day

Genesis 17:12 commands circumcision to be on the 8th day, [11] Modern science suggests that optimal time to circumcise is the 8th day. [12][13]

Big Bang

Genesis 1:3 mentions "Let there be light", which fits with description of Big Bang, Big Bang was not discovered until 20th century by Georges Lemaître.[14]

Ocean pathways

Matthew Fontaine Maury memorial citing Psalms 8:8 as his inspiration.

Psalm 8:8 mentions "the path of the seas", [15] ocean pathways were not discovered until in 19th century by Matthew Fontaine Maury. [16]

Hygiene

Biblical sanitation laws predates germ theory, supported in 19th century. [17]

Wash yourself and clothes (Leviticus 15:4-27) — many cultures underemphasize bathing.

Poop in holes and cover them (Deuteronomy 23:12-13) — contrasts with modern river pooping.

Quarantine if diseased (Leviticus 14:8-9).
