John Calvin (French: Jean Calvin) was a reformed theologian who resided in Geneva, Switzerland, and was influential figure during the Protestant Reformation. Calvin is most often associated with the doctrine of Calvinism, a soteriological position that affirms the sovereignty of God over salvation.
