Europe is a continent. It has a long history of Christianity as Greek European Gentiles were among the first to have the gospel brought to them following Jesus' death. It is also the birthplace of many formal Christian doctrines and events such as the Council of Nicaea and the Protestant Reformation.

It has a land border with Asia to the east and is disconnected from Africa by the Mediterranean sea to the south.
