John the Apostle is an Apostle and the youngest of the twelve original Disciples of Jesus Christ.

He is the only one of the twelve original Disciples who is not thought to have been martyred.

He is known to have written four books in the New Testament and is traditionally thought to be the author of the Book of Revelation.
