Soteriology is the theological theorem that deals with the study of salvation.

It is intended to explor how humanity can be saved from sin and its consequences, the role of Jesus Christ in salvation, and the means by which individuals receive salvation, whether through faith, grace, works, or other theological concepts. Soteriology addresses questions like the nature of salvation, the process of being saved, and the ultimate goal of salvation, which is typically eternal life with God.

Soteriology was the main area of study of John Calvin and is the main focus of Calvinism.
