Buddhism

Buddhism is an Indian religion and philosophy based on teachings attributed to the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama. It emphasises enlightenment and liberation from suffering through self-effort, meditation, and moral living, but it usually falls short because it denies the existence of a personal, sovereign God and the need for divine grace. Buddhism's focus on attaining nirvana—a state of ultimate peace and freedom from the cycle of rebirth—reflects humanity's deep awareness of the brokenness in the world, yet it relies on human works rather than God's redemptive work in Christ.
