The 2007 Bosnian "Rainbow Gathering", an annual meetup for New Age Spiritualists

New Age Spirituality is a modern big tent term referring to trends within certain New Religious Movements that involve a reinterpretation or amalgamation of certain religious and spiritual practices. Often these practices are derived from eastern religions such as Buddhism or Hinduism, but more often than not they contrast these by adding western traditions in, derived from neo-paganism or a corruption of Christianity.

New Age Spiritualists often spread conspiracy theories about the life of Jesus, claiming that he did not claim to be God, or that his teachings resembled that of modern countercultural trends. Often they will use Gnostic texts as evidence for this, without properly understanding the oppressive nature of Gnostic theology. They have also been known to influence Christian liberalism.
