Friedrich Wilhelm Krummacher

Dr Friedrich Wilhem Krummacher (1796 - 1868) was a Reformed minister and theologian from Germany. His most famous work was his "Elijah the Tishbite", a printed collection of his sermons the life of the Prophet Elijah. It was this compendium that went on the inspire Felix Mendelssohn's 1846 choral work Elijah.
Life
He was the son of Friedrich Adolf Krummacher, also a minister and writer and the nephew of Gottfried Daniel Krummacher, a theologian.
