Joel Webbon is the President and Founder of Right Response Ministries and is the Senior Pastor of Covenant Bible Church in Georgetown, Texas. He is the husband of Megan Webbon and the father of four children: Olive, Ruth, Eleanor, and Franklin.

Webbon was formerly a pastor of at a Pacific Church Network church plant in San Diego called The Response Church (which was later renamed San Diego Reformed Church).

Controversies and criticism

Webbon, a Christian Nationalist, argues that "the United States belongs to Christians" and that non-Christians should not hold public office. He remarked, "It’s not for Hindus. It’s not for Muslims. And it's not for Jews. It belongs to Christians." Webbon has also expressed opposition to women's suffrage, suggesting that women should not have the right to vote. ​

In a sermon, Webbon suggested that women who falsely accuse men of sexual assault should face public execution, stating, "False accusing, playing the victim when you’re actually not; you know how to end that real fast? All you have to do is publicly execute a few women who have lied."

In March 2025, allegations surfaced in an online article by Eli McGowan about Webbon's past misconduct, including claims of fornication and dishonesty. Critics argue that such behavior disqualifies him from pastoral ministry (Webbon contests that such was before being actually ordained).
