Joel Webbon is the President and Founder of Right Response Ministries and is the Senior Pastor of Covenant Bible Church in Georgetown, Texas. He is the husband of Megan Webbon[1] and the father of four children: Olive, Ruth, Eleanor, and Franklin.

Webbon was formerly a pastor of at a Pacific Church Network church plant in San Diego called The Response Church (which was later renamed San Diego Reformed Church).[2][3]

Controversies and criticism

Webbon, a Christian Nationalist, argues that "the United States belongs to Christians" and that non-Christians should not hold public office. He remarked, "It’s not for Hindus. It’s not for Muslims. And it's not for Jews. It belongs to Christians."[4] Webbon has also expressed opposition to women's suffrage, suggesting that women should not have the right to vote.

In a sermon, Webbon suggested that women who falsely accuse men of sexual assault should face public execution, stating, "False accusing, playing the victim when you’re actually not; you know how to end that real fast? All you have to do is publicly execute a few women who have lied."[5]

In March 2025, allegations surfaced in an online article by Eli McGowan about Webbon's past misconduct, including claims of fornication and dishonesty.[6] Critics argue that such behavior disqualifies him from pastoral ministry (Webbon contests that such was before being actually ordained).[7]
